After working as a chef for 12 years with Peter Goossens at the Hof van Cleve Restaurant (3 Michelin stars) and opening his own restaurant Kasteel Withof, which was awarded one Michelin star, Coucquyt decided to take another direction in his career. In 2009 he joined forces with Bernard Lahousse in Foodpairing®, a project to make the world's largest database of ingredients and flavours. Coucquyt often publishes recipes in the blog Foodpairing®.
